From ancient world onward, patronage of the arts was important in art history. It is known in greatest detail in reference to pre-modern medieval and Renaissance Europe, where wealthy families, kings, nobleman used patronage of the arts to endorse their political ambitions, social positions, and prestige.

Today's world is no different. Ticket sales cannot fully cover the expenses that non-profit performing arts organizations incur presenting concerts, and "Austin Troubadours" are no exception. The generous donations of our patrons make it possible for us to present our concert season, and to constantly renew our collection of rare an expensive early instruments.
